When I got my '29 R.P.U.,I noticed the remnants of some old pinstriping on the body.It would appear to have been a Hot Rod in a previous life. What I'd like to know is,whose style are they done in,when were they likely to have been applied and what could the missing parts of the design look like? The stripes at the rear of the body end in a fine 'eye of the needle' type design.****!, you might even recognise the car!It came to the U.K. in the mid to late '90's. Unfortunately I couldn't upload the pics to this thread but they are in my album on here. Many thanks to anyone who takes the trouble to try and help. Regards,Mark.
ok, well it doesn't look like you have much to go on there (I am ***uming the door stripes and the little one inch stripe on the rusty panel are all the pics). Considering there are 1000's of stripers in the country (possibly millions), e****ally when you consider 80 years has p***ed since the truck was new (and the striping could have been lettering for a delivery company that bought the truck new) you are not going to get an answer to this. If you knew the truck's entire history we still might not be able to pin it down. Judging from what I looked at (the door mostly) it looks like it could be anywhere from mid 1950s to late 1970s and it looks kind of amaturish, so maybe a previous owner or a local up and comer.
Geeto67: Thanks for the reply.I realise there's not much to go on,what is there is very faded/damaged,but thought it may be worth a shot! Retro Jim: Sorry mate ,tried several times to post them but couldn't.However they are in my album in my public profile.
