Art & Inspiration Pinstripes on a oil filter canister?

I just had my oil filter canister pinstripe for a 235 inline six I was if should re clear coat it over the pinstripes because of the heat??

 

I really don't think clear coating is going to do anything to help with the heat but it my keep the pin striping cleaner. HRP

 

Wouldn't wory about it much. I striped the heads and oil pan on my motor. Been a year now and none of it has burned off.

 

Leave it alone , it'll be fine .

 

If the oil filter gets hot enough to burn the paint you've got more serious problems to worry about!

 

Heat-sealed pinstripes?

 

It really depends on the paint. Oiled based (One Shot) will need a hardener added to it to be cleared over, and even then I wouldn't do it because it's really weird about working right. Urethanes can be cleared, but like they said, no real point.
