Pinstriping practice - first piece inside (no laughing)

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by Probesport, Jan 26, 2009.

  1. Hell, you could throw that on the side of a $5 vintage purse and hock it on ebay for $50! No joke. Keep it up!

  2. Yeah, sorry for the crappy camera phone pic. When I can do something a little more worth taking a good picture of I will pull out the real camera :)

and the box I built to keep all my stuffs in - purposefully bad pinstriping, and purposefully old looking.

If you live in Detroit, you NEED and MUST go to Autorama and meet the stripers there and hook up with some who live close to you.

Contact Safariknut here on the HAMB. He lives in Tecumseh and is the nicest guy you'll ever meet with a brush in hand. And I dare anyone to dispute that.

Cool, remember to put your darkest colors on bottom... it just looks better.

  12. I have a buddy of mine that is a painter/airbrush guy/striper that does Autorama and has been in the Jamboree the last year or 2. I may head down there with him this year.

Yeah I learned that a little late, I will definitely keep that in mind moving forward. When I did the saw & stool red was the only color I owned :)

Paid a guy at the KKOA in Gettysburg in '88 to do my car. Didn't look ANY better than your work, and he was a "pro". Oh well, it's all worn off now. Keep up the good work and maybe I can pay YOU to do it over someday!

Your first lines look good, mine didnt look even close to that good, even now there not much better than that. But as long as you keep practicing everyday, you'll get better quick. Also i agree with the comment on picking apart your own work, i still do that too, and probably always will. Keep it up!
