I just started pinstriping less than a month ago and would like to get some peoples opinions on what i've done so far. These are teh first 3 panels i've done so im open to any advice available. Fred Salvation Tattoo
my opinion is that if thats after a month, youre definately on your way! symmetry is nice, line weight is pretty nice, maybe a little work on you line intersections (that will come in time), but other than that, very nice!. dont neglect the *usually starts on friday in australia or whenever caffiene gets antsy art show* better known as the 'friday art show' held every week here on the hamb. keep painting and keep posting!
Very Nice! I have also just started striping a month ago. Where'd you get the panels? I have been striping just about anything I can get my hands on. Have you joined the pinheadlounge? I did a few days ago, pretty cool place to store pictures.
I got the panels at home depot. They are just 16 gauge steel panels primed and painted with auto paint.
Go to a sheetmetal shop and ask them for their drops (scrap). They'll usually give them to you. Degrease, sand, paint. That's where a striper buddy of mine gets all his panels.
Lookin' good, boys. I just started striping myself (well, a toolbox actaully), and I'll be posting some shots of my stuff on the Friday Art Show post... on Friday. The Friday tradition is just to keep everything together and not have too many art posts flying around all week. That gives you another couple of days to do another panel, now get to work!
I usually get lucite panels from a local plastic supply place. They sell their scrap for about a dollar a pound. Five bucks gets me enough to keep me busy for a while. Your stuff looks very good for first efforts, or third, or seventeenth for that matter . Look forward to seeing more.
Looking good fred! That's a very, very good start for just a month of slopping 1Shot. Come by the Friday art show with your stuff. Joel p.s. Here's a pic of a beautiful heavy "Rainbow Flaked" skateboard that I saw at this past weekend "Pinstriping Legends" bash in Milwaukee. I'll be doing a rather large post on this event hopefully later tonight.
Lookin' good considering you've only been at it a month. Your symetry and overall designs are good. You might want to concentrate on keeping your line thickness a bit more consistent, and work on your intersections some more. Still, a damn fine start. My designs wern't looking half that good after the first month. When I started out I'd just get sheetmetal from the hardware store, but that got too damn expensive. I just started sanding them down and restriping them over and over, as well as striping stuff I had laying around.
