Ok about the pistons. I bought them from an individual that Patricks' knew. So I will sell them. Block only needs .30 over due to the top of the cylinders all different. Only spoke to Tom about carb size for this build. I used his knowledge when I had my 235 built.. And ,yes it's time to track down correct parts; just wasn't sure where to look at first. I was thinking "GMC" parts not Chevy. Wasn't sure if there were modern parts that would interchange. I have used JEGS,SUMMIT before. Thanks again 4 the advice
Yes he can do it. You need to understand what they are and why he wants new. Ask him. If I was your machinist, I would not like being second guessed on the net.
Found some for on eBay but wasn't sure of what cost I should pay. $81 or offers Sent from my iPhone using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
My machinist installs "false" bronze guides in mine because its what he likes and it keeps the original guide in the head. They were easily replaceable when I used stock rockers. I have not replaced one since changing to roller rockers. My machinist sells me all parts at his cost because he does the labor. He also finds many replacement parts because he knows all the suppliers we can't buy from, perhaps you should ask him for guides if your head needs them. My prices on special pistons or springs, retainers, and keepers is as good as his but he always gets a better price on valves. This has happened over 35 years. It's a trust I have with the cylinder head guy and the machinist doing block and balence work. I am more of an ***embler of my specific parts and have never ever let any one ***emble any short block and now the heads also. Every demension, clearance, spring height & pressure is known by me because I do it. I'll say again, you need to trust your machinist and ***embler. Good luck.
Ok guys it s been a month 16June, wen I ordered from Patricks and no parts. called last week& patrick stated going out in the mail?. What's up with that??
