Sorry guys, I am not familiar with the flat head engine or with pistons for that matter.

A friend has a 1952 Nash statesman with what he calls a flat head, I ***ume the flathead engine is the same style for Ford?
My question is, are Flat Pistons used for that engine? I thought I read somewhere that you use domed pistons for the flat head.

any help would be appreciated. Here is a picture of the pistons I am talking about

No photo there........I don't know if the stock Ford pistons for the flathead (sidevalve) V8 are dead flat or not, aftermarket can supply you with domed or reduced height pistons depending on what your doing. Same applies to nearly any engine, combustion chamber type permitting you can have made all sorts of shapes and domes or dish. I know nothing of Nash pistons :)

Nash is totally different than the flat Ford, the flat ford does use dome pistons.

image.jpg Most flathead Fords use a domed piston, however many early motors(usually 32-36) sometimes uses a flat top(no dome or crown)

Why do you keep posting the pic of that manifold? Showing off? Bragging? Selling?

I have a thread on here showing a flathead ford running with no head. That should answer your question. The pistons are domed in my 1951 8BA Flathead.
Both videos are showing domed pistons. Enjoy.
