I'm trying to correct the steering on my roadster that has shitty turning radius.
The steering box is from a 1956 f 100 truck
The pitman arm is really short (it may have been cut and drilled) so I bought a longer one to improve the radius.
    (see attached photo)
The existing short arm has a hole on the bottom of the arm to attach it to the tie rod.
The new longer arm has a knuckle at the end.
Does anyone have a suggestion how to attach this new knuckle end to the tie rod?

    Thanks,
    Zulu

Buy yourself a '60 pickup pitman arm. They have a tapered hole like you need.

Or just buy the correct tie rod end for that pitman arm? That style is still available.

That cut and drill job is crazy. "Five hundred and eighty two turns lock to lock."

Cut off the end of the new pitman just past the ball. Drill a hole the diameter of the small end of the tapered hole, then run a tapered reamer into the hole to make it fit the tie rod end. Add nut and cotter pin, then steer.;)
