i have a 1956 chevy steering box in my coupe. does anyone have any idea if the pitman arm is cast or forged?
    thanks,
    billy

  2. i'm sure it would be forged , i can't imagine chevy casting them

forged parts and cast parts are easy to identify, a cast part would have a small parting line..a forged one wider. hope that helps

Cast is molten (liquid) metal poured into a mold; Forged is red or white hot solid metal hammered into shape-usually in a die.
