Hot Rods Pix of '55-'57 Ford Gassers - the "other" Tri-Fives

Just finally went through this thread.. Can't believe i'm the first to put up a pic of the great Hoosier Hurricane..

 

This car ended up here in Nebraska last year. A small town Ford dealer around here bought it and has been trying to sell it. I dont know for sure if he still has it or if it is sold. Its the DOG CATCHER, I believe bought off of ebay from California? Been with two owners here with no changes to the car, EXCEPT the price of it!!!!!!!!!

If I am not mistaken, the above video is the engine of this sweet '56 Gasser

 

Yep, the headers give it away. That's one bad ass 56. to bad th vid wasn' t longer.

 

That 56 was racing at Eagle Field a little while back, I bet somebody out there has some video of it in action . . . anyone? Anyone?

It is one kick-ass gasser.

have an old 57 300 drag car with loads of pics and newspaper articles with it. ran on the east coast from 62 to 82 then parked. found in 2009. 6 times track champion, 3 years in a row bracket eliminator,(79,80,81). 312 motor, 2x4 setup with blower. dont know how to post pics, if anyone can , car is pictured on the garage shots on hotrodsonlin.com. ran low 12's in the 80's , now running again.

 

I'd like to see it and post pictures for you but I can't find it... where are the "Garage Shots". And I am assuming it's hotrodsonline.com??

The blue '55 on the trailer was incredible! 100% pro set up underneath, but pure stock appearing on outside. Restoration was top notch. I didn't get to see it run, but it looked amazing. The other two cars were just as nice and ran great! It is cool and getting rare to see these cars being driven hard. Around here I'm used to seeing these cars painted the pastel colors with continental kits cruising at s-l-o-w speed. Nice to see these cars under power in anger taking on the heavy chevies.

 

That '55 has "Sleeper" all over it! What drivetrain was in in it?

Hey, welcome to the HAMB! Glad you are enjoying this thread. I've been try ing to dig up 55-57 Ford gasser pics for quite a while, and they are kind of tough to come by. Your '57 is very cool - hope you'll share some details about the build with us.

Also, I cannot take credit for the picture itself as I didn't take it. I found it somewhere or other on the internet (maybe even here on the HAMB) and copied it over to this thread.

cool thread... never realized how many tri-five ford gassers were out there

 

It seems there used to be a bunch of them back in the day, but they are much more rare now.

Trying to change that with this thread and the Fairlane in my garage!

 

is the one in the middle on the trailer blue or black? anyone know any more info on it? KILLER!
