Looks great! Was wondering what gauge tubing you used for your headers?

    Thanks!

I just used whatever came in the cheapest BBC header kit I could find...which is from Speedway Motors. Says it's 18 gauge. Thinner is fine with me. Saves weight, and rust is not an issue where I live.

I built the header for the passenger side. Now it's starting to look like something "under the hood". I haven't started on the hood yet....

Jim, I think I see brass at your tube to flange junction on your headers. I was wondering your reason for that.

Nice read from Stahl. I repaired a set that way 30+ years ago, and they held up well. It was probably 10 years later when my brother sold the car, and they were still hanging in there. Nice progress on the car :D

I really like how the left and right are a close "Mirror Image" of one another. But why the dip on tubes 4 and 6 just inches from the head? Sorry, had to ask. I'm just anal like that when I do stuff.

So nice to see this in person yesterday! The pictures really don't do justice to the real deal.

Thanks! And thanks for the ideas for the window straps, I found some carb linkage ball studs that should work great as anchors for them.

Been working on the shifter, and wiring the engine. Slow going...but it's making progress.

I got a wild hair, and decided to see if it would run. I don't have any wires inside the car yet, but the engine is all wired up, to the terminal strips on the firewall. I put a couple (defective) switches on, and it came to life right away. And kept running...with the starter spinning... After I figured out that both of the switches I installed were junk and replaced them, it behaves a little better. And I dumped the rest of the trans fluid in, and it gets first gear.

Sounds like it's ready to go. Very cool build. Altered wheel base straight axle blown big block Nova doesn't get better than that. Hope you have a great drag week.

That is one of the nicest sounding cars I have heard. Well done! I am taking notes for when I get closer to finishing mine up.

I always enjoy your posts and especially this build thread. The car sounds great. Just thought I'd let you know we have one of your wrenches in our shop at work.:) 002.JPG
