Jim's Chevy II ran a 10.25 @ 130MPH this morning (if my memory is correct) ..... that's a great run!

I got up to the track right as he was making his pass. I think the car looks even better in person. Him and 2 other cars were all were happy with their passes and left as a group fairly early in the day, maybe noon or so, I ended up staying until 3.30 when they shut it down and drove with a group from the track to Vinita, OK where I turned off the route to head home. Reminded me of power tour only most of these vehicles had slicks hanging off of them somehow and trailers.
I am glad I got to meet Jim in person and see the car.

 

I left about 2pm myself for the trip back to Fort Worth, I was glad to meet Jim in person also. I know he has given a lot of great advice to many of us here on the HAMB, I wish him the best of luck and a safe trip.

thanks for posting the pics and links! and its been fun meeting and talking with other HAMB guys. Malcolm (Nick) drove over to Topeka today to watch the racing tomorrow, we accidentally saw him at the gas station, and he has been hanging out at the hotel parking lot all night.

Had a blast this morning racing Mike in his J. I won the race on the starting line, but he got lower ET, 10.01. There's video of it on the Hot Rod youtube



our race is 2 hours 32 minutes in.

Our cars are working good so far, no problems on the drive. Others have not been so lucky, at least two dozen cars are out that I know of.

It was all out on that run....I might try shifting a little later, 6500 instead of 6100, but that's about all I can do. Discussed it with my son last night, he asked the same thing. I'm in 4th place right now

 

day one gasser class results. Keith Fox has the Poison Gas model A, traveling with Mike and I.

 

Did you bring any other pulleys, make more boost?

BTW, your reaction time is waaaaaay better than me.

 

You got to get that 60 ft down, the mph are really close between you and Mike, good luck and keep it together.

 

I do have a different pulley to try, but today Mike ran a high 9 and I ran 10.45, so probably won't close that gap. never did seem to go faster before when I used the bigger one (lower pulley).
