We used to have a small shop in the area that did plastic plating for several of the large auto companies. Living in a small rural community, everybody knew everybody. I just sauntered in one night and asked the night supervisor if there was a chance he could chrome a piece of a model car. He actually chromed the whole kit. (made a hell of a candy red paint job) Just sayin' if you know someone that works at one of these places, and it's a small part they might just send it through the system for a good word or a cold beer. But then this was a long time ago and I know times change. I'm not trying to jeopardize someones job...... just go to the man in charge. Worse he can do is say no. Just a thought...........

  5. FWIW try your local model shop. They have stuff in spray cans now that looks pretty damn good.....especially if you're not building a 100 point show car
