I know you hate to see these posts. I've been playing again. Let me know what you think... which one gets your vote. now for the biggie, could some one tweek the colors to match a stock color combo, shown here?
very first one as in this one? I chalked it out on the car, made it look 50ft long... dunno about that one...
[ QUOTE ] Let me know what you think... which one gets your vote. [/ QUOTE ] I think by the time you get done asking everyone on the HAMB for their opinion, primer will be $350.00 a gallon (paint -- the shiney stuff, will be $500.00 a gallon) and you won't be able to paint it at home anymore becuz the EPA will have cited and fined every hot rodder in the U.S. at least once for air pollution, two-tones will be very old and out, flames will have gone the way of the dinosaurs becuz someone figured out how to attach real flames to any part of the car, '56 Chevy four doors will be all the rage with the ricer crowd (not that there's anything wrong with that) becuz all the two doors and hardtops will have been shipped to Japan and you will still not have any clue on what and how to paint your car!!!! Damn, just paint it already!!! Then, if you don't like it...sand it off and paint it again!! R-
Well the first line of business is install my other 265 PowerPak, 200-4r, 4.11 rear.... but need money for that too. I tried changing the blue, but it didn't look right.
I'll provide the car if you provide the paint and body work... Honestly, planing a car takes some time. When I have the money, I'll do it, but for now I am just dreaming and driving it daily.
Hey, that top one looks familiar... You primered the thing black already right? Just go to Walmart and buy some baby blue and paint the top. Start small and live with it. Then start practicing masking off the flames. Once you get the hang of it, just go for it. You're just using spray cans... It's like having a pencil with an eraser: none of it is permenant. If you want to do something else, it costs $12 for more cans of paint and sand paper. Hell, change it every other month.
[ QUOTE ] Hey, that top one looks familiar... You primered the thing black already right? [/ QUOTE ] I did some, but it's chipping off both the black and the previous coats (it's really thick). I plan on stripping the car slowly this summer. The stock color custom idea came from a recent magazine I bought dated '57. The car is Dusk Plum. I figured that most customs of that period were still painted the original color. In order to keep the flow of that photoshop I like the most, the obvious choice would be Nassau Blue over Harbor Blue and since my car was India Ivory over Nassau Blue, the interior would match either car. Looking at the pic, it looks like "Lancer" hubcaps instead of the "Fiesta" cap, but either would work. Am I making sense or just to myself?
dude, just go to walmart buy some rustoleum metal paint that is 6 bucks a quart and paint your car, doing this may not be the best way but its cheaper and it will look good1 i did my comet in the rust brown primer and look how that came out, its the balls. Painting isnt that hard eitheir, get some thinner with the paint and a spray gun and put it in and pull the trigger if you get a run leave it or sand it out and re spray it. This stuff isnt that difficult unless your doing a show winning paint job and stuff. But its your daily dirver! just my 2 cents Nate
What would be great? I haven't filled the holes either.. but plan too. I like the 5th moded one so far w/ the lancer caps.
Paint it all yellow with black and white checkered flames! (Hot Rod Taxi! ) Ummm...I'd tell ya to think OUTSIDE the box, but I obviously had a problem with that concept myself...
