please id this banjo rear end

    can you please let me know what year this banjo rear end is? the only markings i can find says 9-3 thanks

    I don't see any spring pads on the tubes...unless they've been removed...
    Maybe 42-47 center section with 40 bells?

    The center section for the open drive is out of a 42-47 pickup.
    It appears to have had car housings put on it to use with the transverse spring.

    The open drive center is, but it has car trumpets with the buggy spring, the trucks had paralell rear springs. :)

    The numbers stamped on it are probably 9-37 which would indicate a 4:11 ratio which is pretty common in the pickups.
