Hey Guys - Channel surfing the early morning broadcast TV I came across a My Three Sons episode from March 19, 1964 which had Pontiac I had never seen before. It had functional dual hood scoops, two air intake "slots" in the rear fender, maybe some exhaust pipes in front of the rear tire, a hard cover for the convertible top and some different kind of induction system with no air cleaner under the hood. The twin scoops in the hood seem to be off a '64 GTO. The vertical stack ("double-decker") of the quad headlights looks like a'65. The tail light lense doesn't seem to wrap around to the fender like the '65. No idea about the wheels, the picture isn't clear enough. GM supplied all vehicles used in the series and often used the show to highlight their cars, so it may have been a customized auto show special. The only 1964 auto show special Pontiac I can find is the flame red "LeMans Flamme", but it was mostly a '64 Tempest with a red paint job. Does anyone recognize this TV car? Maybe 1964 GTO? I grabbed these shots off the fuzzy on-line video. The rear end has a shadow falling on it so it looks darker than the rest of the car.
