I saw this last weekend on a '32 3 window coupe at a small car show in kokomo, Indiana and fell in love with it:)

I would love one for mine car!

I'm tired of buying those cheap aftermarket $15 ones and i would be stoked to find an old school "original" one. I think the guy said it came of something from the '40's but i'm not sure:(

    who made this and when?

Do any of you guys have one for sale or know anybody that does?

    lemme know and thanks.
    best wishes,
    CAB

  2. Yes Officer, I can identify it. It's mine...

Just kidding. If I can see it correctly the brand name looks like Yankee. That's all I got. I know - real big help, huh? Looks cool though...

I can read YANKEE on it so I'm guessing aftermarket.

you might check some big truck "chrome" shops... i have seen Deco style ones similar to that being sold there...

other than that, i'd look for ones on diamond rio's... i think i seen one on an old DR truck at a show once upon a time

It was made by Yankee and is a Yankee Turnflex Singal. They also made headlamps and tail lights. If I recollect right, they still make motorcycle turnsignals. They put the Yankee Turnflex Signal stock on such cars as the 37 Studebaker Coupe.

Might try ebay or if you can find someplace else that deals in old Yankee stuff.

Yeah Yankee after market. They made lots of turnsignal kits, selectors and lamps. This is mine on the sport coupe. You have to run separate (additional) turn signal lights in the rear because there is no provision for switching the brake light circuit.

I have a fetish for turn signals. The top 4 are all Yankee's. You can see the evolution of the design. I used one like the one at the top right on my first 34 P/U. It's so primitive with the detent and spring all exposed on the top. All the top pieces on it are pot metal and polish up like chrome. Same thing for the matching levers on the other 2.

They look a lot like the ones I'm using on the 34 P/u. I powder coated the body to give it a more commercial look for the truck.
