  2. Try the NAPA on 49th St. and Ulmerton... otherwise, Brown Auto Electric, ask for Scott.

If you need a parts store that has people that actually know something about old cars try Complete Auto Parts on 4th St. North just north of 22nd Ave N.

  4. Are you sure that you have a 235? Try Ralph's generators on Florida Ave. in Tampa. I'm also wondering why you have had to have the starter rebuilt 3 times. Something doesn't sound right. Selonoid or brushes what is wearing out?

What is wrong with your starter exactly? Is your car a 3 speed or powerglide? The staters are different. I had mine rebuilt and the solenoid changed to a 12 volt at Hutcherson Alternator and starter on 50th st. (tampa) about 5 years ago. Never a problem. They did it in a day.

If the the car is still 6 volt be sure your cables are heavy enough. The stuff they sell nowdays off the shelf is too small , ya need a minimum of 1 gauge and 00 is a lot better. Also if 6 volt be sure the battery is heavy enough VW ones don't cut it,not enough capacity.
