Wow, it's wonderful to see so many kind and supportive posts from the members. It's good to know that compassion and faith are still alive and well in America. Liam is in my prayers tonight and so is a5windows little one. It's pretty tough...no, it's the toughest thing you'll ever do...watch from the door as they wheel your child into the operating room. On the other hand, these areas of medicine have made vast improvements over the last several years. What we perceive as frightening..well, the folks working in the OR do it everyday. These are the best people in the hospital. Prayers are sent. Good luck parents, stay strong for them.;) :)

  3. Thanks Aman, I hope all goes well. You really couldnt tell that Billy, might actually ahve something wrong with him. He is a chipper little turd, and always smiling. Its the consistant, cough, weezing, fever and in-ability to sleep or sleep well. but for the last month we have been dealing with all those symptoms, and mainly the fevers taht have reached 103.6 at times is what is really scary. So far the last 3 days his fever has subsided, so taht is why we get to have the upper GI done tomorrow. We have been using all kinds of meds, anti biotics, steroids etc. with and without a nebulizer, albuteral and Pulmicort etc for the asthma. Hopefully tomorrow we will find out much more, and why one side of his diaphram is smaller than the other. Our prayers are with Liam still and our little one as well.

  4. I'm sorry that your son is having problems right now. I will pray for all of you.

Tell the little buddy to hang tuff, we are all pulling for him.

BTW, after going through almost losing a kid and being in and out of Childrens in Dallas so much it became a second home if I can help you with anything give me a PM. The people in the support staff (book keeping end) at the hospital and the insurance companies can tend to be a little unclear and slow with info. We delt with and still deal with red tape and such.

My wife is due with our first child at the end of this week... Your post really touched me, as well as all the HAMBrs really kind responses. We have such a great community on this board that it moves me sometimes. (Life is a lot more than bragging about a car, or making jokes, isn't it?)

Hang in there and God bless lil' Liam!

I was waiting for the right opportunity to post on the hamb. When I read your post, I felt like it would be selfish not to contribute, and hope I can add something, that might help. Thank you for sharing your situation with everyone, your story especially got to me, my 2nd was also born this weekend, they may share the same b-day so I can only wonder how tough this is for you. Keep up your spirits you are not alone, many children with the same condition have pulled through and lead normal lives. Our thoughts are with you and your family

My brother's first grandchild, a boy, had something similar. He's 3 now and docs have cleared him for a normal life after the surgery.

surgeons can work wonders, faith and prayers can work miracles.

After my daughter's birth at 28 weeks, we spent every day for 2 months at Children's. It is an excellent hospital with superb staff without exception. We had a new game plan just about every day. The handoffs between shifts were always smooth and everyone who came near Kate was helpful, calm and friendly. Bottom line - it's a very good hospital and you should know that you're getting the best available care.

I was just looking through what used to be my pile of parking passes and found three. It's not much, but they're yours if you want them. PM your addy and I'll get them in the mail. If you haven't already, stop by the cashier and get a months worth. It's a lot cheaper to buy them that way.

Best wishes from another who's been there.

I had two holes in my heart when I was born. They didn't know what was wrong with me, I was sick all the time. My Dad figured it out with one of those Fisher Price stethoscopes when I was 3 (swear to God that's true) I'm fine now, still have the scar that I got when I was 3.

Good luck to you, I'm sure he'll be fine.
