    I was looking to see where your plans were taking you. Chevy II 153" came out in '61 so motor should be in cutoff year I would think.

    Larry,y es the Iron Duke is a lot different and not much interchangeable between it and the 153. I needed a rear sump pan for the Jeep, all the 153's I saw had a front sump except for rather expensive and rare marine pans. Although all the "experts" told me a rear sump S10 Iron Duke pan won't fit...I found it would fit being the bolt pattern is the same. I had to rework the rear main half circle and some hammer work to clear the 153 oil pump.

    Some think the moon creates its own light, that a pregnancy test is a great way to prevent pregnancy,,,,, (just kidding fellas)

    Maybe it's just to bothersome to read. I find that a few might read the first post in its entirety, most won't read past post #6, and if there's no pictures- well forget it. There's a bunch who think "my latest pet project" is about a transmission case :)

    A 4 banger fits in where a 4 banger was :)
    I hear a v8 fits in there too. :p

    but the chevy banger has more than twice the HP....and a V8 won't fit without cutting

    Post the RPU project with the motor then.

    Jeeps are not HAMB ERA traditional and off topic.
