You guys are making me nervous. I ordered a nailhead bellhousing a couple of months ago when Marty put a post on here saying they were about ready to ship. He has charged my credit card but obviously no bell yet. I wasn't too worried about it because I had read lots of good stuff on here about Marty and NW.

Now I'm wondering if I should be so trusting. Does Marty have a habit of this sort of thing? If so I'm pretty well ****ed because its a long walk from the land of Oz.

    Marty...what's up?

Hahaha, Yah, I just sold my truck and my chevrolegs won't get me to oregon. I got a motorcycle but only a permit and can't cruise the freeways.

  8. My pop ordered a new 6x2 fuel log about 2 months ago. Not too much of a problem since there is other work to be done, but that car needs to run relatively soon....

My 0.02 I have always had good dealings with Marty, but have always been buying "in stock" items, as far as I'm aware the bellhousings etc are still in the works, sure he will see you right.

Just spent the last hour or so reading through some of the links on here about NW. I'm hoping Marty is going to prove some of you guys wrong. From what I've read his biggest problem seems to be time management. That in itself isn't so bad if you recognise it and don't promise something you know you can't deliver. That really pisses people (me) off.

The common thread seems to be that guys are pissed off about being lied to, moreso than shoddy work or late delivery (although there are a couple of them too).

I don't have a lot of choice but to have faith in Marty and hope he comes through. I would be very happy to be able to post a positive message in view of all the negativity. Just PMd him for an update on the bellhousings.

Please give it to me straight, Marty.

It seems as though you have been more than patient and understanding. However, Marty has, for whatever reason, decded to blow you off. Contact the Attorneys-General for both your state and Marty's state and outline exactly what has transpired. Include as much do***entation as you can to enable the staff to understand the lengths to which you went to try and get your parts/refund. Also, if you used the US Mail to send your money to Marty, contact the Post Office and file a complaint with them.

While Marty may be the nicest guy in the world, there is NO excuse for the treatment you have been receiving! In too many cases we are too nice and wind up taking it in the pooper because we won't complain to the proper sources.

    ***** up a storm!!!

Kind of odd that we have no response from him here either isn't it?

yah, it's not so much not getting my bellhousing, it's that I waited 4 months to put a 4 speed in it because he kept telling me they were going to send it to me in 2 or 3 days, or that he had already sent it. If I had gotten told it would be awhile, I would've just slapped an auto in it, it should have been driving 4 months ago. Now I have the 4 speed that I bought but no bellhousing. I have an adapter for and auto but no auto trans and I'm 200 bucks short on the whole deal...

well, just for info, ...MAYBE you already know this and maybe it has been said, but I didn't see it, his "hamb" name is: SUEDESLED. maybe if you were to call attention to his name in the heading, he might respond???, because I think it is VERY odd he has NOT responded here to at least defend himself or give some explanations!?!?! I have not even ordered ANYTHING from him, but I don't like the situation. I talked to him at "hot rod-a-rama" and he seemed "o.k." but very busy, and a few of my fellow compadres had a beef with him, but that has since been squashed! hmmm, i guess just my -$0.02

I think Marty is running a little to fast. I will not speak bad about him but will say, what I was told I was being sold and what I got was different. Thought I was getting an early Weiand (say we and) styled 4brl intake and got an Edelbrock with lots of helicoils (from stripped threads). He offered to return my money, was not worth the effort and cost to return. (plan to swap the adapter for the correct one in the next week or two). I would still deal with him.

Well, I have to chime in here since I am in the same boat...

On June 23rd I won an auction from Marty for a 6x2 intake that he had on eBay. I called him up the very next day. I figured since I was giving him my info I would order the nailhead bell while I was at it to speed things up. (He had posted on here that they would be shipping the following Monday.) He gladly took my info and charged my credit card for the purchase. The following Tuesday I recieved my 6x2 in the mail. It looked great and I was happy, despite the fact that it was missing the tubing and clamps (for mating the two halves of the intake) that the auction had said would be included. I let that slide and awaited my bellhousing... which still is not im my hands. At this point I was very happy with his service and response and I gave him good feedback on the eBay auction, since the auction was only for the intake and that was delivered promptly.

Then two months p***ed why my car collected dust and the precious warm summer days trickled by.

So on August 11th I wrote him a firm, but calm, e-mail asking where my **** was. This was the response on August 12:

    "Hey Jesse,

i can sympathize with you. I also have been frustrated with the setbacks and the climbing costs of developing this product. We are in the process of building the fixtures to machine the bells. This process had already been started when we dound that changes where necessary; much to my dissapointment we had to start from scratch. I am expecting to be shipping in 7-10 days. I am always a little squeamish about putting dates on things because that is when things go wrong. Patience will prevail for the both of us."

Ok, fine. **** happens, things get delayed.
It is now Sept. 2. Now, I am no math wizard, but it has been a lot more than 10 days since that e-mail.

This week he posted that he would have them for sale at Billetproof on the 17th. Great. Fine. Dandy. Will it happen? Who knows...

    What I know is this.
    1. I paid up front, in full. (more than $500)
    2. Before I paid, I specifically asked if there would be a long delay. I was told no.
    3. I don't want my money back, I want a four speed in my hot rod.
    4. I have been plenty cool, very patient, and kept my mouth shut.
    5. I'm getting pissed now, and it doesn't have to be this way.

Marty seems cool, and he's cool to talk to. His product quality is good, and his **** is definitely cool as far as parts go. I don't know him personally, and I make no claims about his character or intentions.

Bottom line: I paid for parts. Send me parts. Please. Pretty please... with sugar on top. Send the ****in' parts.

This is precisely why we should have a review section for suppliers. This thread will soon be down at the bottom-until the next HAMBer gets screwed and the whole issue arises again. One guy pissed off-it happens,5 guys pissed off and people get curious. A dozen or so on several boards across the web and I think we have a Movement.

Perhaps the moderators should ascertain the veracity of these claims, give the man a chance to come clean and make things right immediately-product shipped or refund wired- and then remove the offender from the board if warranted.

Yah, If I get my cash you wouldn't hear a complaint from me again. also, I think it's funny how you guys say calm but firm, I was laughing my *** off, that's how I was, you don't want to get pissed or we might never see our parts. I don't think I'll see my money until I see him so I might as well get pissed. He was in huntington before, I won't say for sure because I don't know but my buddy's nate and sammy both had some bad things to say about him although I didn't believe them because marty seemed so nice and did well the first things I ordered but he needs to cut the ******** and just say he's not sure when it will be done, It's the lies that piss me off, If he said he didn't think they would be done for a while I would've just gone stright to the auto adapter. and Jimmy.... The video of your coupe is what made me call him in the first place, I decided I wanted a four speed after I saw that and stinky kurtis had nothing but good things to say about how fun the 4 speed in your car was, I think it may just be all your fault! jk

Got a pretty quick reply from Marty on this. The word is he had a problem with the first run of bellhousings and had to start over. Says he should have them Sep 17. I am prepared to give him the benefit of the doubt until then. It does sound a bit like one of the lines he has fed some of you in the past but I'll give the guy a go.

Let's keep an eye on this and V8's issue. I for one am prepared to see the good in everyone until they prove me wrong. I hate being proven wrong!

Yea he says that stuff alot. Just go look at the threads listed by Zman. Also when you check out the one about the carbs(http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=64394). Be sure to check out the links in that thread as well. He has been promising the Desoto 6-2's intake in 2 weeks for almost a year now.

After spending almost a month finishing the ready to run carbs he sent for the Caddy in the above thread. I do not believe he will get his **** straight on these bellhousing either. I mean missing jets in a rebuilt carb is just dropping the ball big time in my view.

Yeah, man you got to have a 4-speed!!! Sorry, that you lost your cash because of the video. Yeah I was working in H.B. at Rod Millen, when he had his shop down there. I remember hearing stories from my buddy that had the machine shop next to his shop. I think Brandon that was one of the owners of Jacks Lowrodders worked their for awhile too. How come Marty hasnt replied to all these people and set the record straight.

Yeah and it's Bleed's fault that I may have done my dough. It was that nailheaded survivor shoebox with the four speed in MF II that got me going.
