please read my LAST POST some facts

Well it has been a good time but I think I need to just read and let enough alone. I think there is a misunderstanding as to my abilities and or work at my shop. first off let me say right out front that any thing done in my shop in the last 8 years that is good has probably been done by Joe Gateley , my best friend and fabricator, painter etc. He is the best I have ever worked with and deserves greatly the credit for all we have done, the 40 sedan that we did, he did it, the Gold 55 chevy G***er WAS HIS CAR not mine!!! ALL DONE AT HIS HOUSE BY HIMSELF WITH NO HELP FROM ME WHATSOEVER. HE DID THE CH***IS ON MY VICKY AS WELL AS THE RECENT BLAZER ROOF INSERT AND IS CURRENTLY DOING THE BODY WORK WHICH i WILL PROLLY PAINT IT AND IF IT ISNT SUPER ITS BECAUSE I AM NOT TRYING TO DO A PERFECT CAR HERE..
I THINK THAT WHEN I SAY I DID THIS OR I DID THAT I SAY IT IN THE SPIRIT OF THE SHOP BUT THAT HAS BEEN MISINTERPRETED TO MEAN ME ALONE AND I WANTED TO STRAIGHTEN THAT UP. I WILL RETIRE SOMEDAY AND JOE NEEDS TO BE KNOWN AS ONE HELL OF A BUILDER . I THINK I WILL JUST LURK AND SEE SOME OF YA AT THE HAMB DRAGS AND ON THE SALT FLATS. I WILL ANSWER PM'S AND WILL ANSWER ANY TO THIS BUT THAT IS IT .AND I AM NOT SOLICITING ANY ******** ,AND I KNOW "IF YOU WANT TO GO AWAY JUST GO AWAY" . WE HAVE HEARD IT BEFORE , BUT I WANTED TO GET THIS CLEARED UP FIRST SO , CYA........SAM

I agree with 3W, dont go away because some opinionated pric wants to h***le or say "you" didnt build that.....etc. hope you'll stay, we need educated guys here that have some know how, skill and experience to offer, as opposed to the ladder.

 

Sam, dude whats the problem? what happened? There are plenty that like seeing your post and the work yall are doing. It is usally never just one person that does something and everyone knows to get stuff done really really fast you got to get help. There is nothing wrong with that and believe me, there are more that dont build then build. Keep your head up, Knowmatter what there have been alot of cool cars leave your shop. Anyhow I hope you stick around or atleast keep in touch with the Dirty's,

How'd that work?

I have know idea what happened to lead you to this, but I hope you don't disappear. I'm gonna have a ton of questions for you and a few others as I get into this '55 project. I, like many others, count on the HAMB for info. and insight on the way things are/were done.

Take a breather if you need to. Sometimes, a week or two will put things in perspective. And yeah, don't let some loudmouths get to you, if that's what's up. You know who you are and what you are about. Don't let somebody else define that for you.

 

I just joined, and I don't know anyone, and I don't want to see anybody go. That means one less cool person that I won't get the chance to know. There aren't that many cool people anyway. And like somebody else said, I don't know of too many people who have built a car entirely by themselves. Help is usually ***umed I thought. Anyway. No matter what you choose, to come on here and to lay all out and then just walk away shows alot of character to me. Maybe you feel that it's to the HAMBs benefit. I doubt it is though.

 

I'm with the rest of the fellas on this, always look forward to seeing whats happening in the shop and best of all the Vicky.. You guys do excellent work keep it up please!

Damn, Dude...I know how ya feel if you've been the target of some feeble-minded attacks...but don't let it discourage ya! I always dig seeing what's going on in your shop, and I haven't seen anything yet that was worthy of even the least bit of criticism!

Aside from the cars and projects that you post about, you come off as a sincere and respectable man...and I doubt that I'm alone in thinking pretty highly of ya! Cars are just an interest that we all have in common...what really matters is the type of person that you are, and I for one would miss ya if you let some idiotic ****-slinger run ya off!!!

Stick around, Sam...the HAMB is a better place with you actively involved in it!

have always enjoyed your posts.

 

Like you post and information, you can't let some know nothing - know it all diminish this board.
I'm new here and this board has helped me more than you think. I retired from almost 40 years of road racing and needed some Auot Hobby direction and stumbled on it here. There is probably 20 worthless post for every 1 good post but it is woth the reading to lean how things are done, - see my post on split wishbones for an example.

 

This is truly the downfall of the hobby..
I know it well...At***ude,Pride,Loyalty ect ect..All the characture defects in the world of hot-rods and customs

 

Just tell em you got a trailer too..lol..dont let em get ya worked up. Both you guys do nice work and it sure needs to be shared on here.

I enjoy learning from your builds and I think the HAMB will lose a great source of info if you leave.

Hey Sam,
You've got a shop, you get to work with your buddy, you turn out great stuff. Weather you do all the work yourself, or part of the work, or none of the work, your involved in this obsession like the rest of us. You've created an environment where things are getting done. When I first saw the Vicky rear and the sedan front you tried to sell on x-nay I thought -yeah right! You had the vision to put it together and share the build with the rest of us. I hope you reconsider and continue to be the quality contributor to this board that you've always been. Always gonna be somebody that is so insecure they spent there time trying to kill the joy for somebody else. This board would not be as good without you. Now BUCK UP!

Don't leave, we need more of your kind around here. Theres alot of people on this forum, most all I've met are good people. Then theres some that make it a point to talk ****, its going to happen, **** them. Those people usually don't have the goods to back what their saying. Its easier for them to hide behind the computer than to say it when your standing next to them.

 

Dont let some punk *** wet behind the ear hack tell you how its going to be who cares what you did what counts is your a hot rodder
and thats all that matters or you would not be here . Stay as long as you like and say what you want this is what this place is all about ..

The HAMB, just like "Hotel California"; you can check out but can never leave. Ryan says so; we all agree. I know you get a lot of positive feedback for your posts. That should mean more to you than a few naysayers. Hell, half my family doesn't like me but I'm NOT leaving!
