He's a valve in head guy. (as if I had a problem with that). Probably needs to first post an intro then cruise and learn before posting.
First question - vintage stuff or modern stuff? The plug reach is 7/16 on the vintage ones and 3/4" on the modern ones. There are a TON of different 3/4" reach plugs available - from every manufacturer out there. I prefer to run NGK plugs - with a flat gasket and the heat range depends on your engine configuration, but probably a 6 or 7 (in NGK nomenclature). For those who don't know - the heat range "number" is backwards between NGK and Champion. Champion -> higher the number, hotter the plug NGK -> higher the number, colder the plug Also, you don't want any sort of extended reach plug - will hit your valves.
The 8BA that came in the Roadster had Autolite 437s With the 2 97’s it would load up especially if it idled too long After doing a search on the HAMB I switched them out with NGK B-4Ls so far so good
An NGK plug with a heat range of 4 is pretty hot - but if you're not experiencing detonation and the porcelain looks okay, then run em' ! LOL
Thanks all. Been a while since I ask this question. Things have been messed up since wife Passed in Jan. Thanks, jim
I'm running Ofenhauser heads and intake with two Holley 94's with no problems. Only problems I've had is leaking carbs and Charlie Price said that the pressure from the new fuel pumps is too high and to run a pressure regulator which took care of that problem. Just over 1000 miles on it and running progressive linkage now, runs better than it did with solid linkage.
