Yes it is ! it is called Kustom Weekend, Last year I made a video of all the madness that went on. Here's the link, hope you enjoy it.
Hadn't seen your thread before today. Caught my eye 'cause I have a '53 Chrysler 2dr hardtop project. You're gettin' there! Good job. I'll be back.
Was a Hemi. Previous owner pulled the 331 and trans before I bought it. I'll probably put a 440 in mine...maybe a 454. Hardtops are stylish. Not real common to have ones as old as yours and mine. Here's my recent thread if you're interested. Good luck with yours! https://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum...1953-chrysler-2-door-hardtop-project.1130957/
I was thinking about that, I wanted to do something vintage like it was done in the 50s and this one I like. Tell me your thoughts about numbers and words.
^^^^^^^^That is a terrific car for inspiration! Build yours as much like that as is feasible and it would be a special attraction at every showing. I just love the ‘tribute cars’ to the Carerra Pan America races from the ‘50s.
Now you're speaking my language! On a street car, I like seeing something that enhanses the cars lines; be it subtle, as you have shown, or not. Do you know any sign painters? Pinstriped edges are not easy, but they do make the the paint POP; be it scallops, panels or flames. P.S. Watson frequently finished his work with Gold, Black, or White lines.
I have already search for a painter but I couldn't find anyone, the pinstripped cars in my country are done by their owners... I might as well do the same
I think I can scallop the car for next weekend event. About pinstrippin I don't know, seems challenging but it sure looks good. I'll just keep it simple and have fun with the car.
it is a 120km trip on the nicest roads of the country, nothing can go wrong I guess. I'll send photos before leaving.

Very enjoyable trip in the plymo ! still got things to improve but he did it with minor issues like a puncture and a gas leak. Photos of friend cars too. Pontiac sbc nitro and the duster.
Been a while not posting, nor spending money on the car but gas. Old flattie is fun! winter is knocking at the door here, so it's very likely I get some time to work on the car in the few next months. My friend of the Duster 72 is giving me those bf tires 245/50/15 for the rear, does anybody think it's possible to run those without modifying much? Planning to use wider wheels (probably the stock ones) 8" maybe or is it too much ?
