Hot Rods plymouth 1955 rack and pinion

    can anyone tell me what type ,brand,and year of rack and pinion rear steer.will possibly fit in my 1955 plymouth? its a rat rod and i have a big ford motor
    in it.please don't ask why.lol

    My old Dodge has an early Chevy Cavalier unit in it. Was a fairly easy install. One spindle has a reverse taper (7 degree) done to allow tie rod to be installed up side down. Has worked for twenty years.

    Or rebuild the stock front end, add modern disc brakes from Scarebird if you like.
    Mopar front ends from the 50s are excellent and light years ahead of the competition.
    Prolly not what you want to do though...

    92 Cavalier rack is the most common rear steer used. Allows the use of your stock inner and outer tie rods. Rock Auto sells them cheap!!!

    Any of you guys have a picture of the setup? I'm looking at fatman fabs power steering kit for my 53 coronet just finished the front suspension minus the shock mount.
