Does somebody know what the differences were between the Plymouth P9 and P10 coupes in 1940 and the Plymouth P11 and P12 coupes in 1941. The only differences I can figure out are that the P10 and the P12 have a back seat. Is that the only difference? Are the bodies otherwise the same exact thing for each year?

1941 p12 Special deluxe wb 117" business coupe 23,851 produced, club coupe 37,352 produced, convertible coupe10,545 produced. Prices ranged from $645 in 1940 to $842 in 1941 (low to high) 1941 covertible coupes (special deluxe) sold for $1007.
I have a 1940 5 passenger coupe and a 1941 business coupe and a 3" thick history reference on American automobiles. The main differences are dashes, fender stampings(fenders are interchangable, just different pattern), front grill area, headlight bezels, but basically they are same car. One interesting feature is my 41 bus cpe came with a wiper delete plate, the sales man or company wouldn't spring for a passenger side wiper! By now you're probably sorry you asked! (longwinded answer)

P9 and P11 are Road Kings with minimal trim. P10 and P12 are Deluxe with Stainless around the windows and down the full length of the car. I've had my P9 Roadking business coupe since '72. Good riding, Good lines with lots of legroom.

Thanks folks!!! So, if I understand you correctly, other than there being more trim/moldings on the P10 and P12 and slightly different accents on the sides of the fenders, the bodies are essentially identical in length, width, height, and shape correct.?.

and add the 1940 and 1941 dodge kingsway to the list of identical cars.
They were Plymouths relabeled as dodges to give foreign dodge dealers a car for a cheaper price point. But same parts and body panels - only trim and grill differences.

Better yet, the fenders, hood, and several other parts from the four door car fit the Coupe. The cars are the same from the firewall forward.
