points or petronix

Is there any way to test the Pertronix if you think it's bad?

 

I'm running points with a 6Al MSD box. So really its kind of a petronix, all the points are doing are triggering the box. I figure if the box takes a dump I can carry a couple of lengths of wire and wire the points back up if I need to on the side of the road.

 

So far the MSD box set up is working better than just the points, but my truck is admittedly over carbed.....

 

I have that setup on seven of my cars, the best ignition system as far as performance and reliability goes.
