1952-59 Ford Pointy tail lights in a 55 ford

Discussion in 'Off Topic Hot Rods & Customs' started by Rockabillykat666, Mar 30, 2011.

  1. anyone know what pointy tail lights will fit in a 55-56 ford car with little modifications? and any links to pics? not sure if i'm gonna do it..but i've been thinking about it lately..i saw a guy in jersey with a 55 customline. and i think he said they were oldsmobile tail lights that just screwed right on. but it looked pretty cool.

Being honest with you Johnny , I really don't think a square tail-light woulds look good on a round hole ! There are some other good tail lights that you can come up with beside those !
If you look at some pictures of kustom taillights I think you will see some better choices than those !
    Just my opinion .

'55 olds is what you're on about. They're just about a bolt on.

My favorite - '55 Merc wagon. Not pointy, ***y! Bolt-on. (As 50fraud discovered, they fit properly only with the gasket. This example shows the problem - not bad, but not right. 50fraud modified his fenders slightly, I understand, to get the fit "just right" - see bottom photo.)

The MAJOR problem with wagon tail lights, is that a good set is about a grand.

The square taillights game from me trying to make a post and someone talking to me about using a early Mustang tail light for a street rod so i got the crossed over !

Early Buick , Olds and of course 59 Caddy's work .

I am using a nice chrome set of 60 I think round tail lights that bolts right one .

I have 53 hudson jet taillights on mine. I just didn't like the indent on the olds taillights.
