polarizing chevy 12v voltage regulator

    looked in search could not find good answer,i have polarized a ford regulator befor, just want to know if it the same process on chevy 12v as in ford 12v. "polarizing it"

    Is the Ford procedure the same as this?

    After re connecting leads momentarily connect a jumper lead between the "GEN" and "BAT" terminals of the regulator. This allows a momentary surge of current to flow through the generator which correctly polarizes it.
