I was the lucky one to purchase this roadster built in 1956. I got most of the parts and have started the restoration as close as possible to the 1956 configuration.
Thanks for sharing that @pars55...What a time capsule. It looks well cared for...Such a great start to a very special Hotrod. Really like what your up to and congratulations on your acquisition...have fun and look forward to your sharing the adventure.
WOW! You are the lucky one. I envy you putting this little car back together and getting it on the road once again. Good Luck and keep us informed of your progress if you would.
Bttt... @pars55 perhaps change your thread title to survivor resurrection or something...I am surprised more have not chimed in.
Irving Poling was an engineer and helped with the original moon landing! The car was built in California while he was in college. Last shown in 79 in California....Trying to learn The Hamb!
Wow, congrats that is an awesome find. In the pic above of the Carb setup that is some serious linkage. What do the flat plates on top of the carbs do? Looks like they move, some sort of choke plates? Looking forward to your progress getting it back up and running
In studying the carbs today , what a lot of effort! The 97s were fabed and split down the middle, yes the butterflies separated, 4 idle mixture screws etc....see pics. He bought a 1956 Herbert roller racing cam and tried to make it run good on the street.also all progressive even the top air blocks! Split both u fab manifolds....I am going back to 97s with mild cam..
