My first new car was a '66 Mustang, so I have a soft spot for first generation ponys, but I'd jump at the chance to own an Impala with a 409...go for it....

If the Impala is an OG 409 Car then there is no contest, check the numbers first though. As said before. Take the 409 and RUN!! Buy another mustang whenever you want to.

    ..she's real fine...

    Now..

Don't you need to be makin' a call...

  9. They were fast. That answer your question?

Hotrod. You already know the two most important things about 409s. Real ones are rare as hen's teeth and they cost a ton to set right. Well that's hot rodding friend.

That said, I like mustangs well enough but if there were an Impala with a 409 in my sites the horse would need to find a new stable. Only thing better than an Impala 409 car would be an oringinal Bisquit 409 car.

Snag it and be happy.

    GO for the 62 Impala.
Great car with lots of different directions to go with the car.
Lots of aftermarket parts are available.

Way back in 1974, my very first car was a Mustang GT fastback. I had a lot of fun in that thing ... I'd trade for the 409 !!!!!

Why do people say or type "no offense" right before they offend you? Is that phrase supposed to be a free pass?

I really like the Mustang, but the 409 is probably the smart move.

I had a decent '65 Mustang convert. about 10 years ago that was made on the exact same day I was born ( that is mostly why I decided to get it ). But, it was a halfway decent car and was cool to drive around here in CA and I did enjoy it. Also, I REALLY wanted a fastback when I was much younger. But, I am over both and not that impressed with Mustangs anymore. Imaplas not too much my thing either, but I say trade it without much hesitation.

Really ? it's basically an unwanted third choice placed here to inject some humor , but if you hop a little farther away from the broken egg shells , I'm sure you'll heared (sic) more .

I had a gold camaro "hot wheels" when I was a kid. I wouldn't trade it for anything.

Duh, easy one. Trade! 409? Dude, Mustangs still a dime a dozen. Even a Fastback. 409's getting rarer by the moment. You are a WINNER on this one.

If the cars truly are in the condition stated....you should go the 409 route.

Lot of 'stangs in that year floating around...how many 409's of any year do you see?
    Get the picture?
