NHRA and LA County agreed on a contract to use Pomona thru 2033. NHRA signed a contract with In and Out Burgers as event sponsor for the finals
Read that this morning. As soon as I land in Burbank, the next stop is In & Out, good to see them helping the sport. Bob
The young lady who runs In and Out burger is a hard core racer of mostly stuff that is off-topic, but I'm glad she stepped up. -Abone.
I guess that is good news if you are into the NHRA shit show; but that track is dormant 50 out of 52 weekends a year...total waste of a nice facility.
I’m guess the food line at the in-n-out will be long if the Fair Plex allows them at all to sell. Just because you sponsor the events….. well you know.
When LA is total electric it might get a come back. I remember going to the SCCA sports car races there in the 50’s.
Mmmm in-n-out! Being from a northern plains state we don’t get in n out very often. I’ve had better burgers but there’s something about in n out. Maybe it’s because we are on vacation in the south west.
I'm from east coast and even I know about the Pomona swap meet. is that not at the same facility??? On my bucket list to make it out there. Was hoping to this year but blew the budget on SEMA show instead.
Im glad In and Out has taken on sponsorship. I will have another of their offerings simply because of this. The quality of their burgers isn't all that great but the T-Shirts are nice...
I believe the reason they don't have more events at Pomona is because of strict anti noise laws....I think NHRA kinda gets a look the other way for those 2 events...There is still something about a 330 MPH Top Fuel car that makes me smile...
Yes sir, same parking lot. From the grand stands to the East. The track is on the West side of the Grandstands. The swap meet guys try to keep folks off...of the track itself. I have an In-n-Out a hard stones throw from my house. When I first moved in, I was there a coupla times a week. Now its once, every few weeks ! Hmm, maybe tomorrow !? Mike
Great news that Pomona will continue to host the races. If you look at the neighborhood surrounding the facility, it’s a wonder that they even have a fairgrounds there these days. Lots of land there to turn into nice quiet affluent housing and golf courses. There is something special about In-n-Out hamburgers, they smell and taste better than the simple ingredients should. I don’t care for their fries though. For a while there, I think Lynsi Snyder had serious racing aspirations but I think there were some insurmountable corporate insurance factors that kept her participation limited to lower, less dangerous classes. I talked to her several times at Bakersfield in the Pisano and Matsubara N/FC pits, she’s the real deal. I’m glad to see them financially supporting drag racing again.
First In-n-Out burger I ever had was at the old Irwindale track when the Snyder’s ran the concession there. Went to grab a burger before we even got the car off the trailer. I think they were part owners of the track for a while.
