Is the swap still going? Wondering too if cars are changing hands or are they not selling at all? How about vendors - commercial as well as private party - are there still quite a few? Thinking about running a pal's car over in my trailer if he can get it here and if he can make up his mind and if.... Anyhoo, what does a space for truck & trailer parking and car sale run? Simplest of all would be simply to leave the car in the trailer if that's commonly done. Suggestions and advice please....
It's not what it once was by any stretch, but it is still worth going. I usually go. Alot of the prices of things are high (thanks ebay!), and I've seen alot more cars leaving on the same trailers, or with the same drivers than in the past, but there are still plenty of deals to be had as well.
Some poeple leave cars on open trailers but if it runs and drives I would not as poeple ***ume it does not run and drive. I have not seen any enclosed trailers in the sale area. Not sure if it is allowed. They have parking space for the truck and trailer after it is unloaded. Get there before 5AM or earlier as it gets real busy and the lines back up down the street. We usually get there between 2-3AM.
When we go over, we leave Friday........park in line Friday nite, hok up to the trailer in the morning, before 9AM.........2 guys, tow vehicle, sale vehicle, trailer......$25.00. They have trailer parking on the grounds, by the fence at the participant's entrance. We use the tow vehicle Sat and Sunday, then back up to the trialer and leave. I would put the car on the ground if it runs, or, like said, everybody ***umes it doesn't. If you get lucky enough to find a buyer before the gates open Sat morning, DO NOT LET THE BUYER TAKE DELIVERY BEFORE YOU PAY THE FEE AND ROUND THE CORNER! If you do, you will no longer be a seller! It does happen, happened to me once, but he had to wait till I was inside the area. Good luck!
