i am thinking of making the trip to ponoma this coming year to sell my parts... and was looking for a little advice.

which time of the year is the best (since there are several events), how many people come through the gates, where is the best spot to get a booth on the grounds....and any other advice that may help me out.

    thanks for the help, jeff.

  2. If you want any chance of picking your spot, I would book a space on line. 3/4 of the spaces are booked yearly by professional sellers. I went out to sell a few months ago. Got there Saturday morning, and literally had about 12 spots to choose from. If you've got good stuff to sell, it's not all that important where you are. Buyers come in from both ends of the lot starting at 5 AM. I was there a little after 5, and had guys pulling stuff out of my truck. Sold all but 3 items by 10 AM. Don't price stuff like the LA Roadster show prices, and you'll do well. I would wait a meet or two after the January meet.

  7. If you have cool hotrod and custom parts, wait for the father's day roadster show and sell then. If you have 46-72 chevy parts sell at any Pomona show, you'll fit right in. It seems June-Aug are the best times. About Dec-Feb it seem to be a buyer market.

Hope you sell tons of parts in order to pay for that Dizzyland trip. That Mickey Rat is one greedy little bastard!

If you go to the Pomona swap just prior to fathers day, hang around another week or so to take in the LA Roadster show and swap meet there at pomona as well. Bar none, that is the best show and swap meet all year in SoCal.

  13. Jeff,

What are you selling? There may be a better meet. I am into near stock Model A's and early Fords and Pomona is not worth the trip.

  14. Spring and summer are good times to go. I usually go Saturday afternoon to get a spot. rumor has it, if you get a spot near the bathrooms you'll do pretty well. Tried that once and sold almost everything i brought.

    Yup check my last post..

  18. Seems like the sellers always bring out the good stuff, around the time tax returns (IOUs) are issued! Or maybe, it's just that was the time when I had a little more to spend. Maybe a little bit of both..

  21. I know it has been debated. The 3 window for $60K? And it was at Goodguys also. If it is such a great deal? Why hasn't it sold? I'm not sayin it is too high, but it sure ain't no steal.....

Because the guy is holding out for a better offer.. It said on that little sign on the window "Best offer soo far @ $60k". Personally if I had really just "found them in a barn" and had no desire to restore them I would take $60k in a heartbeat for just the 3 window..
