Pomona "was the Shit" now it's a Frickinn Unofficial car show and hang out..
You might find a deal or a bitchinn part but thats after dodging "wagons, ice chest on wheels, bicycles, strollers, and bored and crying there ass off kids that would rather be at home but Mommy made then go with Daddy or the Mommys that follow their Old Man everywhere !!!

We are spoiled in Cali with lots of swap meets and shows but I rather stay home and work on my ride!!!

Pomona swap is good for about one time a year, but honestly, estate sales are much better. i did happen to find a great 1958 AMF Roadmaster bicycle in the summer of 06 that i really enjoy. kind of "resto-rodded" it--new drive train and tires/ wheels, but kept the stock frame, handle bars, pedals and seat.

i've been to pomona to look for tail lights for my truck, but couldn't find anything. i did however, find headlights for a 29 A at an estate sale a few weeks back. those "cans" as i called them and a rusty old wrench: 1 American Dollar.

Turlock is the place to go for finding those original pieces.

Okay, maybe that was a little harsh. Honestly, I would just rather go surfing then bang around with a bunch of numb nuts on a Sunday morning. There is always some good stuff there. But like the rest of LA, you have to be willing to dig through 95% of the crap to find 5% of the good, and I just don't have it in me to do that on a Sunday morning.
    That's just me.

Have not gone in 2 years...just got tired of all the beanie babies and toys...Plus the good stuff was all the way in the back WHERE they should have moved the toys!!! But maybe I should start going again.

  6. I can only take so many antique gumball machines and overpriced impala parts with dudes wearing Raiders shirts. I use to love going to swap. Long beach is much better.

Of course its not what it used to be. But nothing is. And if you think things will get better your lying to yourself. News flash the old stuff if running out, between it just plain getting hard to find and lots of it going overseas. Sooner or later folks will be building other alternatives.............

Hate to think....one day a tricked out 1980 thunderbird anniverary edition

  8. I stopped going to Long Beach because of all the people selling non-car related items, it seemed like every other stand was selling Raiders stuff and Harbor Freight type tools. They did change a few things recently, so maybe this is no longer the case.

Also the fact that they don't let the sellers in the night or day before sucks.

As long as I live in So Cal, I'll be going to Pomona.
