   looking to put a 55 287 into my 51, my concerns are how much difference in motor mounts and the 51 bell housing mating up to the 287??? Has anyone done this swap? Btw the trans is a 3 speed manual. Thanks Tony

   You'll need a 1955 standard shift bell housing. In '56, Pontiac moved up to the standard trans with the six bolt top cover that has a slightly larger bolt spread.
