Even though it's down the list a bit, I'm collecting parts for my 52 Ranchwagon. I have acquired a 1966 389 complete, less trans. It isn't in my shop yet so I can't really evaluate it for fit. Does anyone have any experience with this swap? I'd planned for a Chevy or small block Ford but this was a deal. Got it from my next door neighbor who's a Pontiac nerd, so I shouldn't have any major trouble with info on the engine itself. By the way, i really enjoy the group. Thanks, Charley
i got a 350 to fit in mine and i saw a 54 customline with a 389 in it at midnight m*** in sac, im not sure how it will go tho, but that shows that ppl have done it so its not impossible
You can put anything into anything.... you just have to want to.... real bad....! I like the non-normal, fun to see how it happened....
Boy, ain't that the truth, I have a welder, plasma, grinder, sledge and some misc. steel plus a tape measure somewhere. Alos plenty of the Handyman's secret weapon. I'd just like to avoid too many do overs. I have other more common engines available, but I've always wanted a tri-power 389. I had a flathead powered '52 Vic in high school when everyone else had a Tripower GTO, so that may be part of it. Any input appreciated.
