Pontiac guys HELP!!!

Does anyone know if a 1950 pontiac chieftan windshield fits the 1950 pontiac streamliner model ?

 

i think they are the same.

 

Yeah i would think they would be the same also. I just was not sure.

 

My book shows 18" x 28" W113-4 Chevy 50-52 Hardtop,convertible,Pontiac 50-52 hardtop.50-52 Styleline 2 door sedan is 18 x 28 but a different part number W109-10.

 

According to the 23rd Hollander, Chev 49-52 all fleetline, Pontiac 49-51 2dr &4dr streamliner sdns, Olds 49 76,88 4dr twn sdn jobs 3508, Olds49-50 76 & 88 club sdn, cp Jobs 3507,3507d,3707,3707d Hope this helps

 

NO! They do NOT interchange. Chieftain is a notch-back style and Streamliner is a fastback style, they are different.


1949-52 Pontiac and Chevy, and 49-51 Olds 76/88 gl*** interchanges as follows:

All Styline/Chieftain (notch-back) 2 and 4 door sedans and coupes, and sedan delivery, use one gl***.

All fastback body styles, 2 and 4 door, Fleetline, Streamliner, whatever the Olds model was called, use a different windshield and vent gl***, about an inch shorter than the coupes and sedans.

All hardtop and convertible use still a third windshield and side gl***.

All station wagons use yet a fourth windshield and side gl*** - they're taller.

Also, Olds went to a one piece gl*** for '50 at least on the hardtop, notchback and fast back styles. I don't have an Olds book to be 100% on the models, but the six-cylinder cars and 88 used the small series body through '51 and '52 went to the larger body shell.

Thanks guys! It seems i could have a hard time finding a new windshield for the streamliner. My gl*** guy can only get the windshield for the chieftan.

 

See if they can get one for a Chevy Fleetline. My '50 Chevy Fleetline came with no gl*** at all, so I went to a junkyard and I was able to get all but one windshield half out of one car - a '50 Pontiac. The left half of the windshield, the right door, both quarters and the rear window.

Google up Nash Auto Parts in Elbridge NY, see if Joe is in... at the time he told me he had gl*** for around $75 a side for that body style. I forget his 1-800 number but the local I think is 315-252-5878.

 

Find one a bit larger or close and get the belt sander out.....

Well i checked out the H.A.M.B. vendors and called Bob's cl***ic auto gl***. He can get me the correct windshield and seals. He also can get me the vent window rubber seals. Great guy. Highly recomended.
