Can anyone tell me if Pontiac used the same transmission from 1934- 1938? I have a bad transmission in my 37 and I am trying to find one that will bolt up to my L-head 6. Also, if there is a difference, what is the difference and in which years? I hope there are some Pontiac lovers out there with this info. Thanks

We had a discussion about this very topic over on the Performance Years Pontiac board a year or so ago: http://forums.performanceyears.com/forums/showthread.php?t=620670 . It appears that they used the same transmission from mid-1935 through 1938, and newer transmissions from 1939 all the way up to 1955 can be used although the newer transmissions went from floor shift to column shift.
