Allright, known good carburetor from ltd and aux electric fuel pump.
    Its now turnkey.
And it moved by its own power, forward.
    Wrong wheels interferences tontienrod ends.
It wants to move reverse but no dice.so its now in the middle of my yard.
No broblem.lets focus some cold snacks and change those wheels tomorrow. 1726937107072965775808579636055.jpg

LTD and 1960 Mercury goes up barn for winter.
Merc has had poor power steering and now when i had to turn steering pretty hard the rag joint coupling gives up.
Tbird gets new oil and filter.old ones looked not too bad.bottom end looks very good, no holes.
Then i take it for a short test drive.short because its got no brakes yet.first longer than few metres drive for decades. IMG-20240922-WA0018.jpeg IMG-20240922-WA0003.jpeg IMG-20240922-WA0011.jpeg IMG-20240922-WA0009.jpeg

Bought my self a little present, 302 small block.
I have had 1969 ford 20m xl 2300s since i was in the army. Plan is to put 302 and c4 in place of 2,6 v6 +manual trans.
20 years is long time for car to sit in the barn...lets hope its not rusted too badly.. IMG-20241203-WA0008.jpeg IMG-20241202-WA0012.jpeg IMG-20241202-WA0008.jpeg IMG-20241202-WA0006.jpeg IMG-20241202-WA0004.jpeg

    What else?
Took olds 455 block to machinist.its now bored 0.030 over and i got new pistons.gotta order gaskets rings bearings etc...
I tore apart 60 mercs steering box.it was only one bolt to frame.two broken tabs.no wonder it was little funny to drive.luckily i have spare 57 box alttough its not direct fit, the case itself is same.
Waiting for new bushings and seal to come.
Also bought remanufactured steering box for ltd.
If i have enough time, need to change that and make top end overhaul.its got burnt exhaust valves.
Then there is thunderbird and its non functional brake booster...
Lets say, i dont have problem to think what i should or would donin my spare time.this is lifestyle. IMG-20250511-WA0000.jpg
