well its been a long time since i chopped my 31 Desoto and after starring at it for the past couple of years i decided to see what it would look like mocked up. here's my previous thread on the chop http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=133239. i had big plans for this car in the beginning, i was going to mount it to a set of deuce rails and extend the bottom of the body and add a sweeping arch similar to the bottom of a Deuce three window to give the body some better proportions. had also planned a 32-36 ford header panel and windsheild leaned way back Chrisman coupe style and was going to run a 425 Nailhead with 6 Two's, spindle mounts, cheater slicks etc but then for some reason i lost the motivation to work on it and with the recent acquisition of a roadster project it has become apparent that i wont get around to it for another couple of years and i should let this one go. but i thought before i did that it would be great to see what it would look like on all fours and thought you guys might appreciate seeing some pictures of it again before it goes to a new home.
Thats a MEAN looking body.. I love it and the CHOP.. Only thing I would have done different would be a bigger rear window...
damn i see a few badass cars lurking around there. (yeah, probably not the saturn) that's a killer car.
a bigger rear window was out of the question with the chop, if you look in my chop thread you can see that it is as big as i could make it. the top of the window end just at the start of the curve of the roof.
I like the body lines on that thing...it's nice to see something different once in a while. Nice chop too....
thanks guys, i would keep it if space wasnt becoming a serious issue, plus im affraid of becoming one of those guys that says i will build it someday as it just sits there and rots
I wouldn't be shocked to see Satan himself driving that thing. That is one evil lookin ride. Great work.
I feel like the wheel base should be shorter but that could just be me or the fact that the Front wheels are not set yet. Looks like a real hell raiser.

HOLY TIHS - What else does a Desoto like that come with !!!!!!!!!!!!! That 3 window Desoto is the Fncking coolest !!!... its got all the best lines. Mr Tetanus Shot you are a very talented rodder, keep it because ..... I would guess that if you gave that coupe just 1 solid hour of your time every day, by next spring you would have it on the road. Thats about 440 hrs, ...... 439 by now. Maybe somebody can Photo"Chop" it some so we can see it done if you dont want to finish it ??
