@bgaro here's another pic of that Hotrod Racer @Sancho posted. @Fast Elvis posted it in his new thread on The Purple People Eater Dragster... https://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum...er-dragster-1957.1139209/page-4#post-12954347 Credit to Photographer, Owner
This reminded me of this build...not all of it just some of it and wild is one comparison... How's it going @bgaro... Any fwd motion...No pressure hope all is well... Credit to Photographer, Owner
...yeah does it ever and theres absolutely nothing wrong with it either...it really just further confirms the concept is is really nuts on period correct... Cool pic @simplestone...
Fellas heres a link to a thread with more on that poor mans 5 window... https://www.jalopyjournal.com/?p=1732
happy to see a Hamber that is not afraid of welding old iron! how will you do the windsheild?? keep up the great work and inovation.
Hey, boys! Came out of the bushes to check out the progress- it’s awesome! And while he’s doing this he built an over the top 4x4 camper for him and the family to enjoy! My kinda guy! Like Bob Dylan said” I got a head full of ideas and it’s driving me insane!” ( Maggie’s Farm) Forge on, Pathfinder! Sent from my iPad using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
That is so cool looking , keep up the good work " Dedication + Hard work =COOL" not for the faint of heart that for sure
It has recently been sold and passed through a few hands. Hopefully it will be finished someday. Sent from my iPhone using H.A.M.B.
I believe it’s in Mass. I was told it was going to be built with flathead power w early ford trans and components However that was 3rd party. So please don’t quote that as fact... fingers crossed it gets completed. Sent from my iPhone using H.A.M.B.
I had several people send me the link to the FB ad for the body a couple weeks back. I think the guy was asking 3500 for just the body.
Bttt... Anybody taken this forward...it has been similarly envisioned as the pictures show...influenced me... The V12 Merlin was suggested as a mill by @34Larry...hope he is in good spirit this time of season...very fitting for a Hotrodder with an Aviation past...I worked on a Warbird with 4 of them...fire spewing monster powerhouses...
Some projects lose focus when outside factors in life show up. They get shelved or sold off. I remember a few years back a father / son project with a Hamb member donated frame just disappearing
Most hambers applaud making something out of a pile of rust and junk, but they likely would hesitate to pay the 3500 this was rumoured to be for sale for. Once it passes through a few hands and everyone takes a slice it likely lands with a guy with dreams but not the skills. Hope to see it again some day, it was visionary. The original poster hasn’t been on in over a year. Maybe this will be a barnfind some day.
I have one of those stalled builds. Life takes us to other spots. Sometimes to takes a while to circle back. Mine is still on simmer the fire is not out. I hope this one finds a someone with a roaring fire.
