fellow hammers , i woud stay away from cl***ic performance parts , i had dealt with them several times with no problem, but a very short time ago i orderd a complete brake system and an i did it column and told them i wanted all the componets to make the change over. i will not go into detail but it was not good, i had ordered several complete brake systems from them in the past for differrent projects , and it went well . but this time the lack of concern and poor service has tuned me against them and i will not use the again, there was one sales man that i will not mention his name, but if it was my company would be sent down th road kicking cans. i dont care if i have to pay more some other place. they will not get my buisness, and everyone i talk to i will tell the same. buddy holly in texas
If you know the salesman's name and your previous dealings were all good I would let the owners know your story.
Buddy - since you have had many good dealings with the company, give the owner a chance by informing him of the situation. He cannot correct a problem unless he is made aware of it. If corrections aren't made, then go elsewhere. Telling everyone the name of the salesperson can help them when/if they have dealings with this company. They can request a different sales person if they call. Just my opinion.
I'm gonna chime in on this too,,,you seem like a smart guy so why not talk the the man who owns the company and give him a chance to make things right. When I had my retail paint business I had a sign next to the cash register that read: "If you are happy with our services tell everyone you know,,but If you have a problem PLEASE tell me first,,I can't correct a problem that I don't know exist!" Every company has a problem at one time or another,be it service or a employee,,most of the time if you contact the right person your issue can be resolved,,,if not to your satisfaction then do your business elsewhere.HRP
I had problems with CPP as well, and I asked for, and did speak to the highest person they would connect me with in their company. I will not do business with them ever again.
My dealings with them have gone down hill as well. I have been sourcing parts that I can elsewhere. One of my peeves, if I buy a part that is supposed to bolt on for a specific application, and I pay for this, and it doesn't, and I have to modify it to work, no more...
No personal dealing with them, but I've seen a few complaints about product quality in the 62-67 Nova community. On the other hand, many Chevy II guys are pretty devoted to them, since they are one of the few places making stuff for stock front clips. Seems like they cut corners when it comes rto sourcing components though.
I have been selling to, and buying from them since I started in the Hot Rod industry, and I too have seen a customer service trend with the company that I do not like. I will say that the average person there has no idea what it is like to actually install the products, which leads to issues when the customer expects to be advised and supplied with all parts necessary to finish a job.
I'm pretty active over on the 67-72 chevy truck board and for sure, CPP's name is mud over there. Fortunately for old truck guys, we have a company called Early Cl***ic Enterprises that sells similar stuff and has above reproach customer service record.
that almost sounds like a place that sold a customer of mine some vw parts..... piece wasn't even close to fitting , took a couple days of phone tag , only to have the guy tell me and the owner to try jc whitney.....
The steering u joint very similar to borgesons that i bought from them through ebay went well salesmen was very nice to me when i called to asked about it and why it was half as much as the borgeson ones.
