Back in the 70's Popular Hot Rodding magazine had an ongoing project with a 32(?) truck. It had a 4-71 blown 350 and ran 10's. Anyone know whatever happend to this truck?? The last time I saw it in the magazine it had a bad experience with some clown putting in a cutom van like interior and ruining the flames on black with overspray. The article was showing the new flame job. Then it disappeared.
Maybe my memory is shot but didn't they stage a race against a chopped Dodge Tradesman pickup with a narrowed rear and big slicks? I seem to remember the Ford pickup being still in primer. I think the Dodge was black with flames at the time. It's had to keep track of all the magazine articles in my head. I've read so many car magazines in my life I should have a doctorate in such nonsense if there was such a thing.

Right. Tom McMullen built the Dodge with a blown BBC in the bed for "Street Rodder" magazine and Leonard Emanuelson built the '34 for Pop Rodding. The race was billed as the "ultimate magazine project show-down" and IIRC the '34 won. The Pop Rod truck had S-200 (daisy) wheels and was a looker. I've still got the Pop Rod magazine where it made cover when it was "done" hiding somewhere around here...
