I got a serious vacuum leak in my Rochester 4 barrel which I couldn't find with either propane or Acetylene, so I rebuilt the carb and it's still there. Anyone ever hear of these carbs being porous? The parts store guy says he's seen it. I guess I'm in the market for a carb.

Internal vacuum leaks are not real rare on the QJ but sure can drive you crazy trying to diagnose the problem. I've seen about ten with this problem over the years but the vast majority are OK. Both Rochester and Carter made them but I've never heard if one was better than the other. Max
