Scored this at an estate sale, $10. But I'm not getting any pressure out of it. There is a fill plug at the back (it's full), two plug things at the head and the knob. Springs and apparently valves under the plug things.

Do these have to be bled, and how? What is the purpose of the plug with the phillips head? And the one with the hex head? What about the knob, for line pressure I take it.

    TIA

Found a manual with bleeding instruction online, can't delete thread. Sorry. Unless you want to talk about these things...

Thats a unit from Harbor Freight, my dad has one. Seemed to work ok, but that kit looks well loved. The knob on the pump is for it to create pressure, similar to what is on a bottle jack or floor jack.

Thanks greasey. This one says Summit but yeah, likely came out of the same sum-ting factory. I got it bled and working. Now to push some stuff around.

Na, I'm looking for one. The new sets come with a plastic blow molded case. I can't stand it and wanna get a steel box for it. So now I know what size will fit. Thanks. :)
