Free beer? I’ll forge a receipt and book a plane ticket and still come out ahead!

I'm not selling this year but I will be there. Thursday is one of my favorites over at PIR. I took the day off work and picked out my best walking shoes. Now where did I put that flask?

Sounds like you're gonna miss a lot of booths in less than two miles! I used a pedometer for PIR one year, and by the time we walked through all the areas it had 6 miles on it!

I'll be at PIR on Thursday, and Expo Friday. Then laid up for a week soaking my feet and downing ibuprofen!

Oh I know, did both for years, I'm done with that whole scene.
Also put many miles at PIR racing shifterkarts in the early 80's.

We'll be there in our usual Expo spots: 9298-9301. From the Red Gate/Metro station, that's one "block" up and one aisle in (on the corner). Looks like we're kitty-corner from @southerncad, so I'll be checking out that LaSalle. All the cool kids are in the Expo lower lot! (Stop by, @Bandit Billy, you qualify as one of the cool kids. :D)

We usually put in 12 miles while walking at PIR pulling the wagon for our buys. Looks like Thursday's weather should be good.

You gotta do both sides of the raceway, the chicane, the pits. I bet it is 6 miles once you through in a hike from your car.
I love the lower lots! That's where all the deals are. I will look for ya!

Ya...I don't need anything bad enough to slop around in the guranteed shitty cold rainy weather, let alone endure the effed up parking situation!

I'd have to have an old fart scooter to get around PIR this year. My knees are giving me hell right now. I don't need anything specific bad enough to go this year. I hope to have a load to sell at The Tri Cities swap meet though.

1.9 miles is the track length, but there are a lot of little sideroads used, plus some are deadend rows, so you walk down and back out to see the booths. Then there's the roads that cut through from one side to the other, plus all the parking area around the inside of the track. Lots of miles total!

It was mild, dry, and no wind today, so a very good swap meet day! Didn't need much, so didn't find much. But my big score to make it all worthwhile was this unique Dukes Car Club plaque that's about as cool as a plaque can get!

A whopping $18, and it's cast aluminum and measures 10"x4" with real miniature spark plugs threaded into the head! I have a friend who belongs to this club, and I'll ask him tomorrow at Expo if he knows when these were made?

It is a late repop, I know who made them, the originals did not have spark plugs or chrome acorn nuts. The Foundry has since closed.

The pattern was pulled off of a Buddy of mines original, there were only supposed to be a few made for our collections. The flakey dishonest foundry owner who was supposed to be a friend knocked off a bunch of them because he thought he could make some money selling them. He did this without our knowledge and made copies of several of our originals including our own club plaques before he closed up. He used to be a friend, not so much anymore!

Got a few items. The weather held out, we left about 3:40 and hit heavy rain just as we crossed the river heading north. Only doing PIR this year. Expo opens today, we’re all set. Bad weather? That’s par for the course at PNW swap meets. Heck, this event was cancelled two years in a row—if during that time I’d been offered a swap meet in exchange for bad weather, I’d have grabbed the chance. Let’s see, do l put on a rain coat and look for bargains, or sit at home and post a thread bitching about high online prices? Hmmmm…:p
    See you guys out there!

Curious, do you remember what they were asking for the '40-'41 Ford p/u?
