What did you buy, what did you want but the price was stupid, what was the coolest thing you saw there
VW single cab pickup, pretty nice $29K! VW 15 window bus $59K! Just didn't bring enough coin. Other than that, found some 40 lasalle tail lights, a vacuum antenna, and a 47 restored license plate for my diamond t. Lots of walking for not much loot. The track was full of lots of junk basically, so next year it's gonna be expo only. Had fun though, but i could barely walk when I got home.
Hey John- for those of us not in the VW caring department, and have no idea of what $ brings- How about your take on some of the other offerings you saw? A's,T's,50's.......Cool speed parts,Flatty stuff,Wheel's,Intakes,Cars for sale.........Do share!
had to work so couldnt go till sat morning still lots of early ford stuff there at the track and expo was out of loot by 3 wish i could of got there thurs i know a lot of great stuff came out of there early
I saw a few model a coupe bodies in rough shape for less than 1000$ each. Thought that was a good price. I bought an old Fenton 4 speed shifter, some cal custom valve covers. A nos set of red stripe tires and a really cool old 8 quart oil pan. It was a great swap and there was a Tom of stuff to be had. [emoji3]
My friend Logan and I were there Thursday and Friday. We both bought a lot of neat old Ford and hot rod parts. One of my favorite buys was the NOS 1934 Ford Shocks This was my favorite thing there: 1962 Chev with a Alaskan camper. All original and in excellent condition. Was asking 5800.00, it sold after I looked at it and was for sale for 8900.00 the next day and sold again
i only went to the expo center this year, and just sunday... pulling the squeakiest damned wagon ever. shit it was loud. got a super nice/clean '30 A grill for $30 solid/fair '28-29 A front fender for $30 a full set of A door hinges for $4 some split '40 bones dirt cheap, a few other little odds n ends... otherwise most of the early ford parts were few/far between by the time i got there. some decent prices on cars: a clean '62 falcon ranchero for $6k... some off topic Mopars for fair coin. no major purchases for me, but it was a few hours well spent.
It looks like I missed a goog one this time around. I told myself no more parts until I get the shop finished enough to put them in.
Searched all over for grille and insert.....where were you.....guess I missed a sectioned one, which is what I really wanted....
'32 grill? saw one sectioned, sorta rough but totally savable, appeared to be real Henry steel, no insert for $100. no clue what they're going for these days.
Are those solid hood sides 34? I was looking for 34 hood sides and front fenders. Didn't see anything worth while
Yes, 34 hood sides. I have the hood top at home so picked the sides up to make a complete set. Sides and top are for sale.
Here's what I pickup up Friday at PIR . The gauge panel cleaned up pretty good, some light pitting but just what I was looking for to use in my Coupe & only $15.
I love portland ,only missed 3 or 4 years since 76 the golf cart service at the track is the coolest thing ever
I agree Bruce. I bought 5 mounted 16" Ford wheels about the farthest point from my truck possible. Best 5.00 I spent was for a golf cart!
golf cart service at pir? it's great. for the expo, i park next to the max line on killingsworth... drag my radio flyer into the max, all loaded down.
