Hi Hambers a great Hamber alerted me that some pos is selling a 1932 cab I have listed in the hamb classified parts goodies. The guy is on Facebook and listed on Facebook marketplace. He had to have stolen the pictures off the HAMB and pretty much copied the wording As I’m not on Any other websites . So can you please help and flag this ad on Facebook and I’m not sure how to respond to this.. thank you IMG_7714.png

  3. Pretty much best to watermark photos or have something be in every photo be it a garden gnome or logo.
If the price is too good to be true or rare to be in hand ask for more photos.

always mention you have a buddy that can pick up in person. To see what they say.

photos will always be stolen and reused. Hardly anything you can do about that.

You can still report a scammer on facebook even if you don't have a facebook account.
There are several jonathin holmberg on facebook. What town is this guy listing from?

@abe lugo I will add something special to future posts .
I don’t mind folks sharing the pictures and find it flattering when a picture is appreciated. Now trying to sell the item in the picture …

I'm a pic sharer but that is way outa line and you know their trying to scam someone out of big bucks...there should be a way of putting them behind bars...its an epedemic these days and it's even within our ranks here unfortunately...

Hope you can get that removed...its not like you don't have the proof.

I found the POS Scammer in Cadillac, Michigan.
It's facebook account has the same photo as on it's ad.
The POS with a blonde with a HUGE drink in front of her.
The blonde is his daughter according to it's facebook but
I couldn't get in it's marketplace to flag it's account

Does anyone you know have an account as in your missus? I am on his Face book account but there is no link to that marketplace add from his Facebook Profile...is there is a chance someone has hijacked his account without him being aware.

He is a Hotrod Guy but I don't believe this he's the one doing this. It doesn't ad up...family man with a son in the military.

They have been steeling pictures off the HAMB for a long time. Someone was trying to sell my 32 sedan on instagram and FB. Using the photos of the car sitting in our barn that were posted on the HAMB.

@IronFord great looking 32 and sorry to hear that happened.
Unfortunately it looks like a common issue these days and this is the first time my pictures have been high Jacked. Well that I aware of as I don’t spend much time on the internet.

I have access to his account up right now...I don't think its his ad...I'm not a facebook pro but I'd suspect I could link to his ad from his account but there isn't anything like the ad at Marketplace with your truck...I figure it would be in his posts...but there's only 20...I can send him a message I guess and ask if he has something for sale in Marketplace...

Hey FB Hambers anybody advertise on Marketplace. Do your pages link to Marketplace if one goes to your page?

It’s very possible Johnathan Holmburg’s account has been hacked and someone else is fraudulently using his account with Continental John’s stolen ad with totally different contact information again using Johnathan Holmburg’s account.

All you can do is report the ad as a scam or fraudulent identify and hope they shut it down.

@corncobcoupe yeah I just wanted to make others aware that the ad was a fake . I’m sure lots of crap happens like this with the world wide internet. Being old school and remembering answering a ad in Hemmings motor news . Sending a letter with a check and getting a part a week later. Never had any doubts about getting a part. Man have times changed…

Just a reminder that this is just the updated version of what scammers have done forever only now they steal pics.
Trading Times and even Hemmings had ads were you were trusting you were getting was what you paid for and sometimes people did get scammed.
It wasn't all sunshine and rainbows back then contrary to some folks memories.

I hate people that steal or try to steal hard earned dollars . If I could determine this guy was near me , I love to pay him a visit and discuss life with him as his father should have .

Do not ever link to facebook, they immediately put spyware into your computer. Zuck face knows more about you than the US gubment, and he sells it. Thats where his money comes from. He has contracts with many popular apps, like all the fast food places and coffee shops that sell him info on how many big macs you buy. stay away. Best wishes Continental John

  22. Yeah they are stealing the pics and info on FB to keep a record of everyone's junk.
Time for me to put the tin foil back on.

Scammer accounts are mostly out of the country. The point to people in the USA to piss us off.
Unless you have a good old fashion mail fraud check scammer. Yeah those need a meet up and a beat down.

There is another individual listing your cab for sale with a bs story. This one has the No real profile joined that 32 group on the 12th and of course has his "extra cab" for sale. Screenshot (1933).png

In the early 2000's I started getting calls about "my stuff" on Ebay. I never used Ebay. I went to look, there were pictures stolen straight from my web site. Front and center was my sticker with my phone number. People were calling from the sticker. The picture stealing scam has been around ~25 years, at least.
    This is the picture.

I'm about 50 miles of Cadillac, however I've looked at Johathan's fb page and cannot find anything that connects him to your add. Like others have said, I think he may have been hacked. If that's the case an attempt to message him maybe intercepted by the thief.

The add is currently up on facebook / 1932-1934 ford cars/trucks/parts (buy&sell) and I had
talked with him several times, gave me a phone number and address in Cadillac Michigan.
Did the search and found the address to a vacant lot next to a construction company.
He wanted me to send him a F&F cash payment (note - not a deposit) just to hold it for
me to get there - then he still wanted the full asking price. A good friend that lives only
20 minuets from Cadillac tried to contact him about the cab; the "seller" o_O requested a F&F
payment before he would let my friend Nick come there to view the cab - again, the F&F up front
money was to insure that he would arrive there, but did not go towards the asking price
of the cab   scammer to the ultimate ! P.S. I did save all my contact information and
    text messages with him.

I have found that FB marketplace is rife with fraudulent posters. Be very cautious when dealmaking with posters.
