Here's a thread about him from over four years ago. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=17686 Dave http://www.roadsters.com/
Ian Roussel gets off on building "different" stuff too. However, the difference between those two guys is Posies is talented.
I will wait until it's done to confirm that I don't like it...aw hell I am impatient I probably won't like it...
Agreed... some how and I don't know why Ian rousel seems to get a lot of press without a lot of tallent. There seems to be a lot of that going around these days though. oh wait maybe it's those tack welds that look like rivits. give me a brake. face it there's a lot of ugly **** running around.
There's a guy here in Phoenix who has been trying to sell his Ian Roussel-built '56 Plymouth on Craigslist for more than six months. At one point, his ad included something like, "Stop E-mailing me to tell me how ugly this thing is!" Here are his two latest ads: one in Phoenix, and one in Denver. http://phoenix.craigslist.org/nph/car/758860631.html http://denver.craigslist.org/car/771098775.html
and he wants $17k, hahah. There is no comparison between that thing and a Posie build. Like the style or not, Posies cars are very well built, with excellent attention to detail.
If he was smart he would insure it for big bucks and then set it on fire. That guy was the only person in the entire world stupid enough to buy that piece of ****. BTW didnt that Ian guy build that retarded green F100 thingy that was thrown out of VLV? How bad does your ride **** to get tossed out of that show?
Just a guess here, but I sort of doubt Ken ever worried about 'traditional' in his work. OTOH, he's in the very elite a**** hot rod builders out there. If you don't like what he does, chalk it up to prejudice and move along. Nothing for you here. Cheers -- Gary
We ***** about Chevy motors and belly ****on cars. And when someone does something different we ***** about that too. Hot rodding is a creative endeavor and creative geniuses always work on the edge. Ain't that right Mr Roth?
I think it would look cool with full fenders and running boards... Like some vintage European car. He's lost his mind though if he did that to an original body.
Posie's builds are living proof of what taking drugs in the 60's does to your mind in the new milenium! ( I was 15-25 during the 60's)I kinda liked his last roadster pickup but it goes waaaay back to his yellow '36 Ford for the other car he built that made any sense.......Just my opinion......Mike
i love the fact that he cut the back of that brookville body!because it is now sitting in my shop.i really like this build but i my be predjudice. Posie gets full kudos from me.he took the time to give a couple of old gearheads who just walked in, the full tour and then sold me the back of his new build.to me that`s a cl*** act and i doubt that there is another famous builder ,who would do that.
posie has a "hub" too.. say what you want.. but this is friggin neat.. best use of old gm? air cleaners ever..
Very interested to see the finished product. Whats going on with those rear frame rails? Looks like some cool details, the split windshield is a nice touch. Still don't think I'll like it overall, but I haven't seen it finished....
I wish I knew what he smoked..... I like his stuff cause of it. He has the balls and the cash to be different.
