Right. It's another ugly car that belongs in Street Rodder or Street Rod Builder, not on the HAMB. But I have to admit, it's not nearly as bad as the last one they built with that Roush SBF. That thing was a joke.

Actually, I was talking to some older car guys (one's that grwe up in the 50's and 60's) and they would concider that car a traditional rod. No, it wasn't built in some kids back yard using a torch and clothes hanger to hold it together, but it is something that night have been built back in the day by someone.

This whole "I wanna rat rod so I'm going to build the ****tiest looking rust bucket out there" thing, is getting just dumb.

There's a huge difference in a traditional rod and a death rod/rat rod.

I LOVE the Pinkie car. But that's just my 2 centavo's.

That Glader RPU is a modern day street rod too. Although I admit it's got lot of cool parts and construction looks top notch (saw it up close and personal at SEMA), it's not something I'd want. Apparently it's not something Glader wants either, since it's up for auction at Barrett-Jackson.

    Well said Clark -

I was expecting to read a bunch of rubbish about the "Style" of the car. Lots of hard work and craftsmenship went into this build. I guese the HAMB is growing up a bit.

Must be getting old...I like it.
The only bit I'm not sure of is the rolling stock though.

like it or not it will be featured in build book #2
The first build book featured the '70 Cuda that Troy built. I think the build book is a great way of seeing how some of the most recognized builders do thier thing. I'm looking forward to seein the Posies book. Here's a link

I dont like it, did not like his last one (or the one before that). He quality is great, I just do not like his designs. The 5window pu body was great, the motor and interior turned me off. I love woodies and his extremeliner was unique (somethings I loved and others I did not, but the paint was just wrong.)

I would like to have the hood ornament. I would put her on a Longboard and mount it somewhere on my sedan..

I think the fenders on front help it out quite a bit. Nice photshop work, by the way. Ex-nay the hood emblem as well.

Careful guys..the So What gang are fond of midgets. The may just mount a real one on the hood just for spite. I know real midgets are a lot less than three grand.

I guess I have to comment, even though I promised myself I wouldn't. When I saw the debut of this car at SEMA, I thought there is just something about this car from about the middle of the hood forward that is just wrong!

The open wheels are helped mightily by the addition of fenders as we just saw in this post. I like them and think it helps the flow of the overall car. The grille-what can I say, it is just UGLY. I think a stylized '35 or '36 grille would have been much better. But the major ugly thing is the hood ornament. It looks as if an elephant backed up to the car and left Ken a deposit. I know that Ken hired a sculpter to design the ornament specifically for the car, but good God-it just doesn't "fit." It is big and maybe that was Ken's goal. Who knows.

I like the car from the middle of the hood back. Everything seems to belong. Well, I think that the top could have been treated better if it had a more traditional rear window but, I am willing to allow that with time I may grow to like it. But, as I said above, from the middle of the hood forward-it's just WRONG!

This is just my opinion and, like a-holes, everyone has one!

  22. Posie has strange taste.......It resembles a Pebble Beach exotic-which may very well be his intended styling.
Not having all the talent that Posie has I probably shouldn't critique his styling-But since it is still a free country -I will say this.
Front fenders would [as the pics above show] add to the exotics look -but it definitely isn't what I define as a hot rod.
Also ,When did so many builders started putting rear tires on the front?:)

ALL JOKING aside-The car itself has hints of a Morgan or MGTD roadster in a sense.....but then there is that stretch.
That ,other than being entirely out of proportion would have been cool,if a little restraint was used.
Last but not least important the grill and its mounting angle could stand some re-thought.
Other than these fine tune-adjustments,it will be a great hit with the  street rodders, who seem to be populating this board a lot more than in the past.
Also I think if any one else built this car and "debuted" it to the public it would most likely not be as well recieved.

I'm not ashamed to admit that I like it a lot. And great minds must think alike, because I agree with the consensus that some narrower wheels and tires, especially the front, the deletion of the hood ornament, and some kind of front fenders, would make this thing fantastic. I personally would go for the steerable motorcycle front fenders, but the photoshop was pretty damned good, looked real.

Posie has always had an "Art Deco" style to his design. But somewhere he lost it on this car in question. The hood ornament distracts from the car's lines. Its too big and stands out too much, which takes away from the car's flow. But that's just me. The fender "photoshop" is brilliant. I wonder if they were deleted somewhere along the "concept" phase of the car's design. Over all I like the car.

  25. nah, doesnt float my boat. Its just doesnt fuse together as one complete car. Somehow looks "bitza"

I'm sure its well put together etc etc but for that "style" (for want of a better word) I think steve moal's stuff flows better.

I believe that it needs fenders and the hood ornament needs to be wall art...

Does the top fold or come off? If so, anyone have pics of it?

Sweet how things have gotten so calm around here....I guess maybe folks think that Posies is reading the board (I am kidding, don't spend the next three pages being pissed).
Personally, I think it is truly ugly, so was the last one. Certainly doesn't look like a traditional rod or custom to me. Kinda looks like a glorified Prowler.

from a design standpoint those tires destroy the car... it makes it look like a truck- fenders would help only to cover up the truck tires... that thing has potential to be fantastic but its a few major details short.

Exactly what I was thinking. Actually, the elephant **** would probably look better, because it'd be tapered on each end, therefore making it more aerodynamic...:D

The photo shop with the new front fenders definitely helps...but the wheels look like tuner **** and the front rubber is way too big....

I can respect the work, time, and effort that went into this car. I couldn't build it....but I wouldn't want to either...I'm not even gonna get started on this...
